“March of the Indian Economy” from British Raj to Modi Era, is NOT yet another book in midst of a clutter of books on the subject, including our own different volumes on the subject/related subject. First, this book is not a text book on the subject. Any text book is always addressed to a specific syllabus presented for a course by the relevant university, institutions or a board. Any textbook aims to teach students the related topics on the subject. Second, teaching schedule, the marking scheme, the patterns of question paper etc. all evaluation techniques are always well-defined. A textbook closely follows this pattern. Third, evaluation ‘mode’ in a university examination is absolutely different than the ones followed in competitive examinations conducted by UPSC, PSC and other examining bodies. We are aware of these facts. We have went into the finer points and have been guided by these in preparation of the thoroughly updated and revised edition of the “March of the Indian Economy.” Need we tell the aspirants that they can be absolutely sure that the book will meet all your requirements, including comprehension and easy understanding of the subject in question. Just one last point. Right in beginning, we have added two new features in the book. One, we have focussed on communicating in a simple manner the basic concepts of the economics, these are often used in discussions on Indian Economy. Two, we have added a summary view of the evolution of Indian Economy.
